Hawaii Island Family Medicine Residency Program
If you live on HawaiÊ»i Island, chances are you or someone you know hasn’t been able to see a doctor when one is needed. The HawaiÊ»i Island Family Medicine Residency is a physician training program administered by Hilo Benioff Medical Center designed to meet this need in our community and rural areas throughout the state. It utilizes a cutting-edge interdisciplinary TEAM approach to healthcare by bringing together physicians, advance practice nurses, clinical pharmacists, and health psychologists. Together they provide comprehensive high-quality care to patients in one location.
"Our mission is to train Family Physicians able to serve patients in under-resourced areas of Hawai'i."
- Dr. Allison Flaim, Program Director
Hawai'i Island Family Medicine Residency
Hawaiʻi Island Family Medicine Residency is so appreciative of the support over the years from the HBMC Foundation. Lisa Rantz and her team are responsible for creating sustainable infrastructure to help improve access to care for patients in East Hawaiʻi. We have a shared vision of extending this access across the Islands. Our mission is to train Family Physicians able to serve patients in under-resourced areas of Hawaiʻi. I look forward to continued partnership with the Foundation in support of our residents so that we may continue to train high quality physicians to serve our area, as well as other communities in need throughout the State. We look forward to building and strengthening our partnership with the Foundation for many years to come in order to better serve our patients.
Congratulations 2024 Graduates!
